![]() Excerpt from Rob's original review at CW#3: " Dragon's Lair III: The Curse of Mordread, the last and probably also best of the floppy-based Dragon's Lair games by ReadySoft. If you like any of these disk-based versions, check out the deluxe DVD/CD-ROM versions at Digital Leisure's products page. ![]() Treat the games as fun and humorous computer cartoons, but don't expect them to be involving games. It wasn't until the advent of CD-ROM that Readysoft (now sold to Digital Leisure) started making "deluxe" version of these games and put them on CD-ROM and later DVD. PC versions are, naturally, cut-down versions from Laserdisc originals, with many sequences missing altogether. These game are little more than PC version of "choose-your-own-adventure" books, in which gameplay is boiled down to choosing an action from multiple choices. This is by no means surprising: although these games boast very high production values and excellent animations which are created by Don Bluth Studios, their value as a game is sorely lacking. Level 8 This is a bit longer, but still a lot shorter than the main levels, so not too bad to finish things off.In early 1990s, Readysoft released a number of animated action games that became instant hits on the Laserdisc platform, although their PC counterparts suffered poor sales in comparison. Level 7 Mercifully, this is a much shorter level than the others.Ī, left, right, right, right, left, up, down, down, left, right, A Mirrored: A, right, left, left, left, right, up, down, down, right, left, A If you've managed to collect all the treasures at this point, you now move on to. ![]() Mirrored: Right, left, left, left, right, right, right, A, right, A, right, right, right, A, right, UP for Dagger A, A, A, right, A, A, down, left, down, right, A, left, right, A, A, left, RIGHT for Hourglass Right, A, A, up, left, A, down, right, left, A, A, left, right, up, A, right, A Left, A, A, up, right, A, down, left, right, A, A, right, left, up, A, left, A Beware that if you lose your last life, you have to collect any treasures you might have picked up on that level again you can check the treasures you have saved on the pause screen. I've also taken pictures of each, but my apologies if some of them aren't the greatest as it's difficult to catch them in action. The treasures require you to hit a different move than what is highlighted by the move guide, so I've pointed out the correct move for each treasure. If you miss any treasures, you cannot go back to previous levels and will have to start a new game. Princess Daphne has been spirited away to a wrinkle in time by the Evil Wizard Mordroc who plans to force her into marriage. This means you must collect all treasures on a level before completing it to finish the game. ![]() Thong of Shielding: Daphne's 'dress' is actually a g-string teddy with a transparent black silk robe over it. In the original game, if you missed any, you were reset back to whatever levels you have missed treasures on however, in this version, the game will glitch out if you don't have all the treasures and not progress beyond the seventh scene. The original Dragon's Lair III is in 2D, Dragon's Lair 3D is a 3D remake of the first game, and Dragon's Lair III by Digital Leisure is footage of Dragon's Lair 3D mixed with the earlier gameplay style. There are eleven of them spread throughout the first six scenes, and in order to reach the seventh scene, you must have collected all of them. This game has a new mechanic in the form of treasures that you have to collect.
